Phyllis Migwi joins Microsoft as the new Kenya Country Manager

Microsoft is announcing the appointment of Phyllis Migwi as the new Kenya Country Manager. She will head the company’s operations in Kenya and develop and maintain relationships across Microsoft’s subsidiaries. She takes over from Kendi Ntwiga-Nderitu who took up a new role as the Global Head of Misrepresentation for Meta.

I am thrilled at the opportunity to play my part in Africa’s economic growth story, Phyllis shares. To position Microsoft as the premier partner for that growth, while developing the leaders who will overcome present challenges and build memorials for the future, she adds.

Phyllis holds an MBA from Hult International Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce from the Catholic University of East Africa. Before this role, she spent more than 12 years in various positions at IBM across Kenya, Ireland and the USA. In her last role at IBM, she served as the Regional head for Hybrid Cloud & AI – Africa Growth Market. She also previously held leadership roles in Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Information Communication Technology sectors in India, Europe, Africa and North America. Phyllis is also the recipient of the 2015 CfC Stanbic Bank Rising Star award for the ICT sector.

Ola Williams takes over as new Microsoft Nigeria country manager

Ola ‘Olatomiwa‘ Williams assumes the new role of Microsoft country manager for Nigeria. Formerly serving as the Director of Microsoft Cloud and Digital Transformation Solutions for Microsoft’s Multi-Country Cluster region. She will now lead the organization’s efforts to accelerate Nigeria’s Digital transformation and cloud adoption. As well as identify new opportunities, mobilize internal organization resources and external stakeholders.

Ola shares “It’s a great honour to be taking on this exciting journey. At a time when the organisation is focused on growing and accelerating Africa’s transformation. I am very optimistic of where Africa is headed and how we have a unique opportunity to use technology to really transform the lives and businesses in this region.” she adds.

Ola joined Microsoft in 2010 as the Enterprise Voice Technology Specialist. She has since held various positions including Partner Technology Manager, Dynamics Partner Sales Executive and Account Technology Strategist. Ola has over 21 years of Information technology experience which spans through Solution implimentation, Solution Sales and Channels Management.

New Microsoft Nigeria country manager, Ola Williams, takes over the role previously held by Akin Banuso. Akin will take on the new role of Enterprise Commercial Lead for Middle East and Africa Multi market region. It is not yet clear if Ola’s responsibilities will also include being country manager of Ghana.

“I’m proud of the significant contributions Akin has put in to accelerate the transformation journey of our customers in Nigeria.
I’m thrilled that Ola will bring her unique expertise to take the country to new heights and also play a part in the larger leadership team to design how we address Africa’s business landscape.”

Microsoft appoints Salima Amira as Country Manager for Morocco

Microsoft announces the appointment of Salima Amira as Country Manager for its operations in Morocco. In her new role as Country Manager, Salima will conceptualise strategies, allocate resources, oversee engagements, and highlight Microsoft’s work in Morocco. She is tasked with developing and maintaining relationships within the regional sales and marketing departments, as well as across Microsoft’s subsidiaries.

She has 17 years of experience as a leader within complex and competitive sales environments. Salima is an agile and analytical thinker with a strong technical background. Salima has held various roles within IBM and spent the last two years as Territory Manager for Morocco. Prior to this, she spent eight years selling services and solutions across industries. And six years at INWI in the telecommunication industry where she took on roles in B2B business development management and subsidiary management.

I’m eager to join the Microsoft team in Morocco. To meet the people, get to know them, understand and embrace the culture, and support each member. Together as a team, I believe we can accelerate Microsoft’s plan for Morocco,” says Salima.

Salima expresses her goal of driving business development, client success, and partner empowerment by working closely with clients and partners to understand their market- and industry-specific needs. She is passionate about attracting talent and empowering people, linking their work to greater customer impact.
