Day 1 was Amazing. Intelligent clouds and AI were everywhere in all conversations. Day 2 blew people off their minds with some interesting features and announcements.

Today will feature a lot of technical deep dive sessions. There’ll be an online keynote event with John Shewchuk and Steven Guggenheimer. Event 06:40 PT. Time variation will mean 1330 GMT, 1430 WAT if you are in Lagos, 1630 EAT if you are in Nairobi and

Day 2 Keynote is here! Watch and follow Microsoft’s Developer Conference Build 2017 live.

Day 1 was Amazing. Inelligent clouds and AI were everywhere in all conversations.

Today’s keynote event with Terry Myerson, Microsoft EVP Windows and devices group will start at 0830 PT. Time variation will mean 1530 GMT, 1630 WAT if you are in Lagos, 1830 EAT if you are in Nairobi and
1703 SAST if you are in Johannesburg.

Microsoft will use the event to address Windows developers through keynotes, announcements and technical sessions.

    • Windows 10 next update is coming in the fall and is called the Windows 10 Fall creators Update.

    •  Story Remix App – Story Remix will help you find inspiration and explore new ways to create great stories – coming in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, and its a really cool app. You don’t have to be a pro to make really cool Stuff

    • Introducing a new design experience – Windows Fluent Design System

    • Introducing Windows –  Timeline. The quickest way to get back to what you were doing.  using Cortana + Microsoft Graph

    • Cloud powered clip board

  • There was a really big WoW from the Build 2017 crowd when the  ⬇️ was announced. It even resonated on social media platforms.
    • iTunes is coming to Win Store. Windows 10 & 10 S users will get the complete experience including apple music + support for iPhone

Day 1 of Microsoft Build 2017 began with Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO opening the event with the Keynote session. He shared on Microsoft’s vision for it’s technologies and how they see them impacting the world. Harry Shum, EVP Microsoft AI and Research spoke about how AI has the potential to disrupt every industry. Microsoft’s EVP Cloud & Enterprise, Scott Guthrie followed to share on the cloud and new Azure services.
Microsoft aims to empower every developer for a new era of intelligent 
cloud and intelligent edge.

Watching Microsoft Senior Product Marketing, Laura Jones demo Cortana in a car(not a real car) on stage and how it was integrated in other services was a sight.

Microsoft’s EVP Cloud & Enterprise, Scott Guthrie came to share on how developers can leverage emerging tech to achieve more. He announced new Azure data and cloud services for developers to modernize existing apps.  There was also news on new AI and Azure services to build intelligent apps with understanding and natural user interaction capabilities.
 

From Day 1 Keynote, developers here are some updates :

  • Azure Batch AI Training is a new Azure offering
  • Microsoft has the industry’s broadest offering of cognitive services with 29 of them now, and with unique customization options

  • New Microsoft Graph APIs were made available to developers, including APIs from SharePoint and Planner
  • Any developer can now publish for Microsoft Teams
  • Visual Studio 2017 for Mac, out of preview and now generally available

  • New MySQL- and PostgreSQL-managed services are joining Azure SQL Database to give developers expanded choice and flexibility
  • Azure Cosmos DB was announced
  • Azure IoT Edge
  • Cortana Skills Kit is now in public preview
