iTunes app finally comes to Microsoft Store

Apple’s iTunes application finally debuts in the Microsoft store after it’s announcement a year ago.

iTunes

Microsoft’s Build developer 2018 event takes place next week. At this same event a year ago Microsoft made a big announcement; iTunes is coming to Windows Store. However we didn’t see or hear anything till it was released in the store on the 26th of April. This could be good news, might be too late to win over other developers or fans.

“Now you can download iTunes from Microsoft Store and easily play your favorite music, movies, and more—right from your Windows 10 PC. iTunes is also home to Apple Music, where you can listen ad-free to over 45 million songs and download your favorites to enjoy without using WiFi”.

The app is currently only available for PC’s. It might become available as a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app and run across devices. Visit the Microsoft store and download the app, synchronize your stuffs and enjoy.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, comes with lots of features and this includes an improved photos app. This also includes new artificial intelligence features that make searching though your photos very easy. It also helps you create other photos and videos from your existing ones without hustle. We saw story remix demoed earlier this year and this is some what interesting.

With the help of artificial intelligence features, in the reimagined Photos application, available with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, we’re making it easier to find that perfect photo or video and make the most of your memories. – Ashlie Little, Microsoft PMM

Searching Photos app with AI

Search by person, place, or thing in the new app to quickly find what you are looking for.

How do you do this?
Simply click on the search bar and images of people from your collection will appear. This makes it easy to click on the person you’re looking for. You’ll also see places and things that are already in your collection. Also if you know what you’re looking for, a photo from the playground, a video captured at Disneyland, or last year’s picture with Santa, just type those things into the search box and the automatically tagged photos will come up in your search. That’s right, the best part is, it’s all done for you through automatic intelligent tagging, no work needed on your end”

How cool is this? Now you don’t have to scroll through tons of photos to find that picture you need.

Create an AI inspired video from Photos app

The new video creation tool experience makes a pro out of a novice. Yeah like try it and tell me if not, lol. So how do you exhibit pro skills?

With the video creation tools in the new Photos app, no video editing skills are required. Using AI, the Photos app will automatically bring together your memories into a video for great storytelling complete with soundtracks, themes, and transitions. Keep the automatically generated video to enjoy and share, or easily remix it with just the click of a button for an all-new look and feel of the video, complete with a new soundtrack and transitions. AI enables the app to understand what music and transitions align best with your photos or videos”.

Okay tell me if this isn’t awesome. You just watch the magic happen lol.

Have you updated your device to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update? give this a try and tell us what you think. Cheers!

Microsoft Paint isn’t dead But Paint 3D is next Gen

Paint isn’t dead and won’t die it appears for now. Microsoft has confirmed original app will still live on in the Windows 10 store.

paint

Microsoft Paint is dead, RIP“. That’s what you heard or saw somewhere online last night or this morning depending on your time zone. The support was massive. There were tributes and farewells all over the internet.

If you are a frequent user then you love the application. Good news it’s going only to the Windows store so you need not worry. Confirmed by Microsoft with the doodle below in a blog post, hopefully designed with the app 🙂 . The app will be available for download from the Windows store and not preinstalled in the OS.

paint Microsoft said;

Today, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support and nostalgia around MS Paint. If there’s anything we learned, it’s that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans. It’s been amazing to see so much love for our trusty old app. Amidst today’s commentary around MS Paint we wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight, clear up some confusion and share some good news:

MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free.

Looking at Microsoft’s plan for Windows 10 operating system, termed Creators Update, it seems legit.

Let me Introduce you to Paint 3D

Our beloved app has evolved. First you need to know it still has every single feature you’ve used and comes with more features.

“the modern-era version of MS Paint, with new capabilities and functions that bring it up to 2017 standards” – Zac Bowden

2016 Imagine Cup Winners Chat with Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella

2016 Imagine Cup Winners Chat with Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella

As part of the winning package of the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016 competition, Winners were to meet Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Team ENTy had this opportunity and here’s their chat with the chief.

2016 imagine cup

Team ENTy from Romania were crowned champions ? of the Microsoft 2016 Imagine Cup competition finals. Four teams from Africa made it to the finals with team Night’s Watch, from Tunisia coming in 2nd in the World Citizenship category, winning $10,000.

The 2016 Imagine Cup winners, winning $ 50,000 cash prize also got to receive a private mentoring session with CEO Satya Nadella.

“The call with Satya was amazing,” said Flavia. “After presenting and doing a live demo on stage at the Imagine Cup World Championships, we never thought we would feel that anxious and nervous again. But he talked with us like he had known us for years.”

Q: Team ENTy:  what would he do if he were a co-founder of ENTy?

A: Satya Nadella . I’ll make the hardware smaller, get the patents and the certifications for the product, and find good investors.

“He told us that we should keep fighting for our product, and that we should hurry up with the launch in the market because timing is crucial when you’re part of a startup,”

Since being crowned the Imagine Cup Champions in July, ENTy has been hard at work perfecting its product, with an intense focus on making it smaller and getting it into the hands of the health care professionals who will be its primary customers.

“We minimized our hardware to a device that’s about the size of a coin,” Flavia said. “Right now, we are testing it in hospitals in Romania, and we are getting the necessary medical certificates for the product’s use in Europe.”

Team ENTy has this advice for students who wish to give the competition a go.

“Never stop believing in what you’re trying to do, whether it’s a startup, a project, a song, anything!” students participating in Imagine Cup should focus their efforts on building “a successful product, not on winning something. Our aim was to make a product that will help doctors and patients, and that is exactly what we did.”

This year’s, 2017  Imagine Cup finals will be the 15th anniversary and has a cash price package of $ 100,000.

To participate in the competition, check with your institution for a Microsoft Students Partners group. The events will be hosted by the local Microsoft subsidiaries in eligible countries. There’ll be national finals and then all the finalist head out to Seattle for the big event where they’ll present their ideas.
