2020 Microsoft Partner of the Year Africa Award Winners

Microsoft partner awards Africa 2020

Ahead of Microsoft Inspire 2020, the company has announced its 2020 Partner of the Year Award Winners. We bring you a list of Africa partner winning organizations building new and innovative solutions for their customers.

Microsoft uses the partner award to recognize outstanding partner accomplishments within its community.

This year, the company received over three thousand entries from one hundred countries. There were in all one hundred and forty-six award winners across various categories.

Unfortunately, no African partner emerged a global category winner this year. Last year, Cloud Productivity Solutions Limited from Kenya won the global category for Teamwork.

Ghana recorded an award winner for the first time this year. Senegal for the second year in a row failed to register an award winner. Côte d’Ivoire also failed to register an award winner this year.

Microsoft will continue to invest and grow services in Africa datacenters

Microsoft Commercial Partners Lead SA, Lionel Moyal has assured partners that Microsoft will continue to invest in the Africa datacenters. He was speaking to Microsoft partners at the fy19 South Africa partner awards in Johannesburg.

He shared Microsoft’s commitments to about three hundred Microsoft partners.

Microsoft will continue to invest in and grow the services in the local datacenters. While skills development remains a key priority for the organisation. In our industry, partnership is everything. Thanks to your work, together we can support organisations and businesses to thrive in this Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This year Microsoft’s Africa datacenters located in Cape Town and Johannesburg became operational. Announcing later in July the availability of Office 365 services on the datacenters.

Accenture wins Microsoft South Africa MD Partner of the Year award

Accenture South Africa wins the prestigious managing director’s partner of the year award. Awarded during the Microsoft South Africa partner awards for fy19.

Each year Microsoft recognizes the contributions of its partner community that enable and empower Microsoft’s customers do more. Through providing, designing and implementing innovative customer solutions using Microsoft technologies and solutions.

Microsoft South Africa Commercial Partners Lead, Lionel Moyal, addressed over a hundred partners who were in attendance. Sharing that the awards recognizes innovative and forward thinking partners. He iterated that “as we move towards the fourth industrial revolution it is important that we[Microsoft and Partners] work together, sell together and win together.”

We are seeing every industry embrace tech intensity as every company is becoming a digital company.

Speaking about Accenture’s success this year, Lionel says Accenture South Africa changed its entire business strategy. From consulting to working with us[Microsoft] to envisage what is possible for customers.

We highlighted earlier the 2019 global Africa and Middle East Microsoft country partner award winners. With Mint Management Technologies winning South Africa Partner of the Year award.

Apart from Accenture, there were other award winners on the night. Top winners include BUI winning four awards on the night. While Altron Karabina and Mint Group winning three awards each.

Microsoft South Africa Partner Awards 2018 Winners

Microsoft hosts event to celebrate partner achievement in South Africa. 

Partner Awards

The award event set aside each year recognizes the contributions of the Microsoft partner community. The community that enable and empower Microsoft’s customers do more.

Microsoft South Africa Managing Director, Zoaib Hoosen, speaking at the award ceremony said “Our partners are the lifeblood of our business. Bringing our platforms and solution areas to life and enabling the success of our customers”.
He reiterated words from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, from the Inspire 2018 partner event. “What binds us together is not our success, but the success our customers achieve”.

Zoaib Hoosen told partners they met their fiscal year 2018 targets as was also shared during the Microsoft Partner CEO Forum in Accra. Where Ibrahim Youssry said Microsoft recorded a record growth in Africa for the first time.

Microsoft hosts Partner CEO Forum event to show support and commitment to its business ecosystem in Ghana. This was evident with the high level representation of the Microsoft team in the room. From the General Manger Middle East and Africa Regional Multi Country Cluster, Ghana Country Manager and Partner Technical managers. As shared by Damola Solanke, Public Sector Sales Lead, it had been a long time since Microsoft spent time with partners in the country.

MCC CMO Enterprise Lead, Edmond Idoko getting the sessions underway said “We are here to show Support and commitment to our partners“.

Speaking to partners, Ibrahim Youssry, Regional General Manger MMC introduced himself, Multi Cluster Countries(MCC) and shared on Microsoft’s vision for partners.

Our Success is to make you successful. It is a different mindset. – Ibrahim Youssry 

For Ibrahim it was a pleasure to be in Ghana meeting with partners. Microsoft’s new subsidiary MCC covers 67 countries across Africa and the Middle East with a focus on enterprise business. Microsoft doesn’t have presence in all these 67 countries. He said our focus directionally behind the MCC is to leverage our partner ecosystem to drive their businesses so we scale our purpose.

Microsoft wants to provide partners with much more assistance and support. With the new model Microsoft is committed to the success of our partner ecosystem. Our success comes with success to our partner ecosystem. To make you successful driving Microsoft business or your business on our technologies. It is a different mindset.” – Ibrahim Youssry

Ibrahim also shared that for the first time in Microsoft’s history in Africa it recorded an 18% growth. 



 

Partners meet Ghana Country Manager at Partner CEO Forum

Partners were introduced to new Country Manager under the new MCC model Akin Banuso. Akin Banuso, Country manager for Nigeria and Ghana told partners “The future is bright”.
In Ghana we want partners that are committed. Partners that will talk to customers about the solutions that really matter to them”. For Microsoft he said “it is the value we can add to your organization. The idea is we are going to scale through partners.”

Partners are the growth engine for Microsoft and Microsoft is the engine for partners.

Microsoft MCC Partner Technology Manager Ola Williams told partners without you our partners, we can’t be successful. The new model is a desire to scale through partners across most of our markets. She mentioned Microsoft has made significant investments in new resources with capabilities to help partners achieve aim. The aim to jointly help customers in their digital transformation journey.

She iterated partners are the growth engine for Microsoft and Microsoft is the engine for partners. We want to scale through partners. We are investing to help partners and customers.
The whole conversation from speaker to speaker was on how Microsoft together with partners can achieve growth together.
