Andela is partnering with Microsoft to bring Azure cloud skills to technologists in Kenya and Nigeria. Through the Andela Learning Community with Microsoft Azure training program.

Today, we launch the #ALCwithMicrosoft Azure Training program! Microsoft and Andela are giving you the opportunity to advance your skills in Microsoft Azure. This is in a bid to drive a collective mission to empower current and future African technologists with for high-value employment skillset. 

“The program is opened to anyone looking to grow their Azure software development skills. And is excited to learn with a community of technologists” Andela shares.

At the end of the training, shortlisted participants will receive Microsoft Azure certification exam vouchers.

Andela Kenya hosts workshop powered by Microsoft. Introducing the Microsoft Graph Service APIs and Smart Clients to its developer learning community in Nairobi.

This month’s Andela workshop episode was in collaboration with Microsoft. The Andela Kenya workshop powered by Microsoft introduced developers to Microsoft’s Graph Service APIs and Smart Clients. Leading the workshop sessions were Microsoft office software engineers; Harvey Rook, Michael Mainer, Japheth Obala and Charles Wahome Gitau.

Amongst the topics of discussions were Introduction to Microsoft Graph. What role the Graph developer experience team plays and how they are improving the developer experience by providing client libraries and tools. How to get started with Graph, demonstration of the Graph Explorer and how to get a free demo tenant to get started.

Graph is the API that connects data and insights across Microsoft technologies. Hundreds of important business object types like emails, files, and events are surfaced with Graph.
Graph’s API lets a developer build apps for organizations and consumers that interact with the data of a lot of users. Allowing them to gain valuable insights and intelligence about the data.

Microsoft’s developer and IT professional conference Ignite will be taking place September 24th to the 28th. Like last year, individuals have been selected from the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) and Regional Director(RD) community. These individuals will become community reporters during the conference period, keeping us up to date. The ignite community reporters specialize in varying fields of tech making it possible to hear about the various tools and their development opportunities. 

 Microsoft MVP Visual Studio and Development Technologies, Toni Edward Solarin-Sodara who also is a software engineer at Andela Nigeria has been selected. Toni will join this years Ignite Community Reporter’s in Orlando, Florida where the event will take place.

Microsoft introduced the new reporters in a blog statement.

Fellow MVP, Microsoft Office Apps and Services, Tracy van der Schyff from South Africa joins Toni as the only African MVP’s in the crew.
