Paint isn’t dead and won’t die it appears for now. Microsoft has confirmed original app will still live on in the Windows 10 store.

Microsoft Paint is dead, RIP“. That’s what you heard or saw somewhere online last night or this morning depending on your time zone. The support was massive. There were tributes and farewells all over the internet.

If you are a frequent user then you love the application. Good news it’s going only to the Windows store so you need not worry. Confirmed by Microsoft with the doodle below in a blog post, hopefully designed with the app 🙂 . The app will be available for download from the Windows store and not preinstalled in the OS.

Today, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support and nostalgia around MS Paint. If there’s anything we learned, it’s that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans. It’s been amazing to see so much love for our trusty old app. Amidst today’s commentary around MS Paint we wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight, clear up some confusion and share some good news:

MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free.

Looking at Microsoft’s plan for Windows 10 operating system, termed Creators Update, it seems legit.

Let me Introduce you to Paint 3D

Our beloved app has evolved. First you need to know it still has every single feature you’ve used and comes with more features.
