So we checked and these aren’t the GH country variant’s. Also it looks like the price for the Lumia 950 XL have been reduced from GHS 2,990 to GHS 2,890 but that of the Lumia 950 remains same GHS 2,790.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950XL devices were announced in October 2015 and became available sometime in November 2015 in the US markets and thereafter some European markets. They are widely expected to become available in many more countries in early 2016.
Good news maybe? You’ll need to be ready to buy at Telefonika’s usually extra high charges (includes 1 year warranty coverage price). The Lumia 950 and 950XL are Microsoft’s new fan flagship phones and have high end specifications as such value for money. Telefonika Ghana has the phones up for sale at GHS 2,790 for the Lumia 950 and GHS 2,990 for the Lumia 950XL. You can make the purchase at all Telefonika outlets and their online store.
If the price is a throw off then, you’ll need to hold off to get them from the Microsoft Care shop or from other authorized partner stores in the country and should be very soon. Also we are yet to have a confirmation if these are the Ghana country variants. If these aren’t then you should be prepared not to participate in any promotion offers that might come up like the Lumia Rock and Roll promotion
The Lumia 950 and 950XL come pre installed with Microsoft’s new mobile operating system windows 10 and you’ll get more quicker updates as they become available and released by Microsoft without carrier delays. They are available in white and black colors.

With Microsoft streamlining it’s mobile division there wouldn’t be all the range of budget phones that consumers might be used to, like the Lumia 4**, 5**, 6**, 7**, 8** etc range of devices. So if you happen to like those range as you might not have or want to spend so much on the flagship Lumia 950 or 950XL, the Microsoft Lumia 550 is the device for you.
We will reach out to the Microsoft Ghana Mobile division on when to expect it in town and on pricing. It’s expected to sell at $139 so that should be plus tax and at rate of exchange at time of availability around GHS 600.

The event saw Students from tertiary institutions around the country, Microsoft Student Partners Ghana members and the business community attending the event.
Microsoft Ghana country manager Derek Appiah giving the keynote said;
Following the global launch of Windows10 in July, Microsoft has launched a series of Windows 10 promotions in Ghana to help students. Microsoft in Ghana has trained over 15,000 teachers, impacted over one million students and created over 1,800 jobs.
Windows10 is in almost 95 languages. Windows 10 is our best Windows ever, taking the best of both Windows 7 and 8.
Access to content is changing pretty fast. That is what Windows 10 is all about. One experience, one platform, one store!
