Telefónica is announcing the expansion of its global strategic relationship with Microsoft. It will focus on accelerating the creation of joint initiatives in the consumer market. By bringing solutions in areas such as gaming, connectivity, communications, secure access to data and new Living Apps to existing and new markets.
The company is looking to expand services for corporate and consumers with the new partnership. Chema Alonso, Chief Digital Officer at Telefónica made the announcement at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 taking place in Barcelona.
“We celebrate reaching a new level of collaboration in our strategic relationship with Microsoft to generate new opportunities and expand existing ones in the consumer, digital home and innovation space”.

Last year, it launched Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the commercialization of Xbox consoles in Spain. It will be looking at bringing this service to other markets where it operates. Telefónica is looking to offer a monthly subscription of Microsoft 365 in markets where it has a presence. It also plans to bring access to select LinkedIn Learning content to its Movistar Plus+ television platform. Users will be able to connect to video conferences and make calls through Microsoft Teams using Movistar Home. Finally, Telefónica will run joint commercial and marketing initiatives on Surface devices in Telefónica’s markets in Europe.
The Chairman of Telefónica and GSMA, José María Álvarez-Pallete, notes the company has achieved important milestones in its collaboration with Microsoft. And is looking forward to working on new services based on their state of the art connectivity and the transformative power of AI.

Nokia is unveiling its first branded laptop the PureBook Pro globally. The Nokia PureBook range will come in two models, 15″ and 17″. They will run on Intel’s newest 12th generation mobile processor and be pre-installed with Microsoft Windows 11.
Nokia PureBook Pro comes with a large touchpad, backlit keyboard, and fingerprint reader. It has a wide full HD display, 2MP HD camera, 8GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage. They are available with only the Intel Core i3 processor at the moment. It has a Micros SD slot for additional storage.
The Nokia PureBook Pro 15.6″ and 17.3″ will be available in Blue, Dark gray, Red and Silver colors. There is no release date but Nokia says it will start selling at 699€ and available in 22 markets globally.
The PureBook Nokia branded laptops were previously only available in the Indian market. Some of the known devices available are the Nokia PureBook S14 and PureBook X14. French start-up OFF Global reached a licensing agreement with Nokia to launch the Nokia-branded laptops globally in 22 new markets. The company will facilitate the design, manufacturing, go-to-market strategy and sales of the new Nokia notebook line.

Microsoft and INJAZ Qatar launch Women Technopreneurs, a project to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into women’s entrepreneurship. The Women Technopreneurs project will focus on entrepreneurship with an emphasis on AI technology.
It will seek to increase the knowledge and qualification of young women in tech. So they can use these skills to benefit the integrated field of technology and business. Microsoft will provide AI knowledge and expertise to the participants in this project.
The project will select 30-40 young women, 18-30 years with an interest in a career in technology and AI from academic institutions in Qatar.
The selected participants will receive support, guidance, and assistance from experts, volunteers and members from Microsoft and INJAZ Qatar for 3 months. They will get the opportunity to improve and broaden their skill set. As well as gain hands-on experience and develop a strong work ethic.
Participants will team up to come up with business ideas that integrate Artificial Intelligence and compete against each other. The winning team will be enrolled in an accelerator program at the Qatar Science and Technology Park. Where they will receive intensive training and mentorship to turn their ideas into a commercially viable business.

Noting, It is vital to ensure everyone has access to these economic opportunities. OPPO is introducing new flagship devices with the launch of the OPPO Find X5, X5 Pro and X5 Lite. The devices come with the company’s MariSilicon X imaging NPU which makes it easy to capture clear 4K Ultra Video at night. It also features two 50 MP Sony IMX766 camera sensors, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and ColorOs 12.1 OS. A new Multi-Screen Connect feature promises to make it easy to work across a Windows PC and the phone. Is the Find X5 able to give the iPhone a competition?
The high-end Find X5 Pro sports a 6.7″ ultra-clear curved AMOLED screen with WQHD+ resolution. It is powered by a multicore Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The X5 Pro has a 5000mAh battery and the new battery health engine gives twice as many (1600) charging cycles. Its 80W SUPERVOOC flash charging technology charges it from zero to 50% in 12 minutes. While the 50W AIRVOOC powers it up to 100% wirelessly in 47 minutes. It will be available in ceramic white and glaze back colors.
The Find X5 has an ultra-premium finish, with frosted, matte glass and fingerprint-resistant chassis. It includes a dual 50MP Sony IMX766 camera system just like the Pro, powered by MariSilicon X. It sports a 6.5” 120Hz billion-colour display. Also has support for 80W SUPERVOOC charging and 30W AIRVOOC wireless charging. It will be available in Black or White colors.
The OPPO Find X5 Pro and OPPO Find X5 will be available from March 14 retailing at €1299 and €999 respectively. The entry-level OPPO X5 Lite will retail at €480 and be available later this year.

Acer has updated its Swift line of notebooks with new models of the Swift 5 and Swift 3. The new laptop models are thin, light, powered with 12th Gen Intel Core processors and Intel Iris Xe graphics. They have bright 14-inch touchscreendisplays and all-day battery life.

The new Acer Swift 5 (SF514-56T) laptop comes in a CNC-machined unibody chassis weighing 1.2 kg and 14.95 mm thin. It runs on a 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Processorfeaturing up to 12 cores with Intel® Iris® Xe graphics. Has 16 GB of dual-channel LPDDR5 memory and up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. The Swift 5 features a 14-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) touchscreen display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 92% screen-to-body ratio. Acer notes the display is made with a layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the surface.
The Acer Swift 5 (SF514-56T) will be available in North America in June starting at USD 1,499. It will come to the EMEA in March at EUR 1,799, and in China in April at RMB 9,999.

The Acer Swift 3 (SF314-512) is an all-new 14-inch laptop available in three color-washed designs. It comes with the latest 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processors and up to 2 TB of SSD storage. It features a bright 16:9 QHD or FHD touchdisplay and an FHD webcam with Acer’s TNR technology for better video calls. The device ports include USB Type-C, USB Type-A, and HDMI 2.1. The Swift 3 promises four hours of battery life after a single 30-minute charge. It also comes with Acer’s TwinAir dual-fan cooling system, which offers an improvement over the thermal performance of a single fan alone.
